Hi, everybody. It’s John Fagerholm from defendmybiz.com.

Today I want to discuss that runaway train that we call #metoo. Again, California, Jerry Brown, making laws that affect small business owners.

So Jerry Brown signed into law SB-1343, which significantly changes requirements of small business owners in relation to sexual harassment training.

The previous law was a company with 50 or more employees was required to have two hours of mandatory sexual harassment training for supervisors.

The new law is five or more employees are required to have mandatory sexual harassment training.

Two hours for supervisors, one hour for all other employees, and independent contractors, temps and part time are all counted as employers.

The deadline is January 1, 2020. So don’t sleep on this, get that training out so to avoid liability.

Thanks, everybody.
