What’s up fellow entrepreneurs today is a quick one, just an announcement that mask mandates are back. But first I’m a lawyer, but I’m not your lawyer. So please consult competent legal counsel for your specific legal question or needs.
During a virtual briefing with reporters, the county of Los Angeles health officer announced that the county will require masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.
So this unfortunate decision is in reaction to what the county health office is saying is a steep increase in COVID-19 cases in the county within the last few weeks because of the Delta variant, fully vaccinated persons have been permitted to not wear a mask indoors.
Since June 15th, the health officer indicated that the new mask order will mirror the one that was in place prior to June 15. So in other words, all employees and the county of Los Angeles, regardless of vaccination status will need to wear a mask while indoors.
Well, what about the consequences of not wearing a mask? What about non-compliance? Well, the sheriff, Alex Villanueva has said his department will not expend their limited resources and instead just ask for voluntary compliance within rules.
So county officials also have indicated that they won’t take a punitive approach to face covering laws either. They just said they will continue to go out and educate. It’s not something they really want to have to do in terms of giving citations,
Unfortunately back to mask wearing indoors outdoors, well actually just indoors.
So back to mask wearing, I don’t know what this Delta variant is, but apparently it’s worse than the original, so all right, everyone stay safe and until next time be productive.
