Hi everybody. It’s John Fagerholm from DefendMyBiz.com.
Today a want to talk about a topic that people keep asking me about.
I think I may have made a video in 2017 about this but I’ll make another one irrespective.
So people are asking me about the California ban on salary history that came into effect January 01, 2018.
So basically it only applies to new applicants. And instead of asking for a salary history you must give a pay scale if they reasonably request one.
You may ask about salary expectations but you may not use their previous salary history to determine the salary that you’ll pay them for the job that they’re applying for. And that’s just the basics of it.
It’s very simple.
Thanks everybody.
I appreciate it.
